Announcing summer break

05.05.2026

In 2025, we experienced a sharp increase in submissions. It is very exciting to see the continuously rising interest in our journal, and we appreciate authors who trust us with their submissions. Yet, as a diamond open access (i.e., non-profit) journal, our growth is not tied to financial expansion, but relies on the dedicated time of our editorial team.

To maintain our standards of quality and ensure a sustainable workload for our editors, we are introducing a summer break for new submissions from June 16 to August 31.

What this means for authors:

  • New Submissions: The submission portal will be closed between June 16 and August 31. We look forward to receiving your new manuscripts starting September 1.
  • Current Manuscripts: Work continues as usual for papers already in the system. Our editors will continue to contact reviewers, process revisions, and communicate editorial decisions throughout the summer.
  • Editorial Wellbeing: This pause allows our team the necessary time to recharge, ensuring we remain responsive to our community in the long term.

We apologize for any inconvenience this pause may cause and deeply appreciate your understanding and continued support of our sustainable publishing model.
